Ms Elizabeth Singleton, founder and president of Singleton Community Services and communication director for MASH (Maricopa Alliance for Shelter and Housing). Listen in as we discuss her journey from homelessness to helping to the homeless find housing and her groundbreaking tiny home project.
Ms Singleton has personally experienced homelessness, and has dedicated her life to advocating for those who are affected by mental illness and homelessness. In February 2009, She opened her first supportive, independent apartment community for those living with a mental illness and other forms of disabilities with only $500 in the bank. She became frustrated with the lack of access to mental health services and resources after the deep budget cut in 2010 to those receiving service.
Today she has helped move policy change, housed, advocated on the behalf of thousands individuals living in our community with a mental or physical disability.
