Our consumer society–which seems to be crashing to a very ugly end at this point–has been so much a part of our lives and culture that we actually think it is somehow Christian. Of course I suppose our fascination in the 1980’s and 1990’s with the Health and Wealth Gospel probably helped foster that misconception in us. So, here we are, facing the most turbulent times in our history as a nation and from what I can read and see on lots of Christian blogs. T.V. and Radio shows Obama is the problem. Look, if we don’t get our heads on straight and be “The Church” … our chances of survival are minimal. (And, just for the record, I’m not even too sure Obama is the symptom…let alone the problem).
