With the launch of this year’s New Zealand Music Month, there’s no better time to explore underground music that often doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. Scared Of Girls are a 4 piece garage rock band based in Ponsonby, who epitomise what it means to be part of the New Zealand student music scene. Formed on the grounds of Auckland University, and fueled by ambition and affordable beer, the group have released their debut EP ‘Suck’.
Radio BurgerFuel’s Lee Densem speaks to lead singer Daniel Vernon and Bassist James Dalton about musical inspiration, upcoming gigs, and stepping back in time to release their first EP on cassette tape.
