Today on the Country Hour: a Senate showdown is looming on the backpacker tax, Labor will support an amendment to reduce the tax to 10.5 per cent, a move that would require the support from the House of Representatives to become law. Debate over water policy is set to take centre stage in Queensland Parliament later today. The Palaszczuk Government is seeking to pass its Environmental Protection and Other Legislation Amendment Bill - otherwise known as EPOLA. Support for change is divided amongst farmers, miners and conservation groups. The fire-affected Swickers pig processing facility at Kingaroy hopes to start killing tomorrow and will process pigs at an Ipswich plant. Donkey meat and hides are in high demand, the pepper harvest is underway in FNQ, while a record mung bean crops is forecast
