"Bill Gates is a very rich man today... and do you want to know why? The answer is one word: versions."
The perfect quote for a podcast episode about why we set goals for ourselves and particularly New Year's resolutions. Our spirits believe in versions of ourselves. Whether we "ship" them (a Steve Jobs term) is another story. After a week of examining goal setting strategies from academics, educators, marketers, professors of god knows what, I've decided I can only commit to two new behaviors and only for six weeks.
My favorite suggestion for goal setting came from the short podcast linked below which basically said if you haven't given your goals enough thought in December for the coming January, you should put them off till February.
Now, that I can do.
