Dub reggae, dub techno, two step. This set touches on all three styles, with other influences leaking in from time to time. Even when the categories aren’t associated with quiet music (you will find no bombastic warbling basslines here) the songs certainly give due consideration to the use of space. The space given the various instruments and the spaces between the sounds, filled with heavily processed vocal scraps echoing off invisible shifting boundaries, and the pleasant reminisce of musical trends from times past, all presented in this 'loft style' mix. Some songs seem to refer to others, despite the gulf of decades seperating them. Sit back and put on your headgear, and whatever else it is you do in preparation for serious music, this is near-future champion soundbattle. Side one picks up the trail, while side two offers an unexpected blend of remix talents. As always, from only the finest high quality vinyl and digital sources.
