Tracing Time: Stories from Palestine

Tracing Time: Stories from Palestine

This week's Tracing Time episode is a special interview with local Devonian Nick Bilbrough, founder of The Hands Up Project which does online storytelling and english language learning with Palestinian and Syrian children in Gaza, the West Bank and Jordan.

We talk about the work, the journey and the many stories blossoming out from this incredible collaboration of cultures, while weaving in music hand selected by Nick, which have their own tales to tell about the making of the project.

Also featuring a phone-in live from Gaza with the gorgeous and fiercely intelligent Heba Hamouda, a school teacher from Beit Hanoun Prep Girl's School A, who I consider myself very privileged and lucky to call a colleague and dear friend.

Interesting about The Farmer who Dreamed by the way. The Pedlar of Swaffham seems to be regarded a real person and this story claimed as an English one http://myths.e2bn.org/mythsandlegends/origins11-the-pedlar-of-swaffham.html

Thanks! I really enjoyed this - it has given me some ideas for my own Hands Up class. (Roger Waters is patron of my PSC branch :) We just asked him and he said OK).
