On the Bike Report we talked to Paul Paridaen, co-founder of the Edmonton chapter of Bicycles For Humanity, an organization that ships used bicycles to communities in Africa where a bicycle isn't a recreational vehicle, but a tool for getting material to and from market, reducing travel times and increasing the population reach that a professional (eg. doctor) can assist. For more on the Edmonton Chapter, like their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BicyclesForHumanityEdmontonAlberta or see the main website: http://bicycles-for-humanity.org/
Also we talked about studded tires, and some of the other tips you'll need to ride in our current snowy conditions.
Then there was the once in a decade change in leadership in China, the re-election of Barack Obama (but with a minority in the House of Representatives), and that Environment Canada says Edmonton received up to 30cm of snow yesterday!
