A truly historic day in Edmonton's history - CJSR's bicycle traffic reporter, Karly Coleman, counted more than 450 cyclists in an hour as she made her rounds this morning. The weather helped, but still this far exceeds our previous high in the high 200's. To celebrate, the Students' Union Building had a fire alarm, so the show was interrupted for a short time.
We also talked about CAN-BIKE the cycling proficiency course offered by Cycling Canada to educate Canadian's of all ages and skill-sets in how to ride bikes on the road.
Then there was the grumpy old man glutinous fish that won an ugly endangered animal poll - despite the jokey nature, it had a very serious cause - to highlight how loss of biodiversity is affecting our planet, even when it's non-glamourous species that are dying.
And the man who swam across a lake with legs and arms bound, just to set a world record. He did it "dolphin style"! (picture Psy's dance underwater, with dolphins...)
