FLORALISM Floral Design Festival is an event dedicated to flower design organized in Rome by art director (and ethnographer) Donna Sangiorgio. Floralism has invited Archaeological Records in occasion of its 2020 edition to curate the soundtrack of the senior flower designers exhibition that was held at the spaces of Portuense 201 in Roma. AR then selected and mixed songs to create a soundscape that would help strengthen the Floralism concept: the relationship between contemporary art and flower design. For the choice of music to be used AR followed a trivial method: songs with a botanical title or with a vegetal artwork. By slowing down, equalizing or simply overlapping tracks (also using field recordings made for the occasion) a suggestive yet easy-listening floral soundscape was finally distilled.
