Hedonist Jazz (22 Nov. 2010)- Soul Jazz Liberation

Playing tracks by

Gregory Porter, Sounds Of Liberation, OutKast (feat. Cee-Lo & Erykah Badu), The Pharaohs , Lloyd McNeill and more.

On this week's show I wanted to portray the close knit between jazz and soul by playing some truly liberating soul / jazz sounds.
I trawled through my library and found old and new tracks which I think fit this genre. I've included tracks from Gregory Porter, Sounds of Liberation...... and (believe it or not) Outkast.
I hope it helps listeners realise that jazz comes in all shapes and sizes, and shouldn't be pigeon holed into what the traditionalists expect.
So let's try to put an end to that frequently asked question "Is that jazz?"

The Hedonist

@paolo_gabrielli No, it's my voice. You just can't get enough of it hahaha

I usually don't like Soul (sounds like a blasphemy to you? (-: ), but I *really* like this show. Maybe it's because of the jazz part in it? Now I'm on my third listening...
