Beatport Miami Competition Mix "Neon Haze"

Beatport Miami Competition Mix "Neon Haze"

Pablo's submission to the ...challanged to interpret "the sound of Miami".

Limited to 30 minutes and five selections from Beatport's top 10 charts and whatever else could be squeezed in, this is my take on the electronic sound of Miami: a unique city of beautiful people, excess, drama, architecture, late nights, beaches, humidity, crime and most of all... bass. From the eternal sounds and selections of Jan Hammer, the 808 thump of cars cruising to the sounds of bass-testing CDs, breakbeats, to the glitch of modern day experimentalists taking their regional sounds into outer space.

This is the sound of glistening sweat, from the swampy underbelly of the streets, on caramel skin, reflecting the haze of neon flamingos on Collins Ave. Eclipsing the sound of the WMC...the sound of Miami, for those belonging to the city, in the heat of the night.

Thank you everyone for your positive feedback!! It was my intention to compile an electrocentric array of musik that is unique within the contest and evokes classic imagery of Miami nights. I'm glad to hear you're all feeling the balmy vibe. Winner is contacted tomorrow, so there still may be time to propel this to the top in the final lap!

Wow wow wow! Pablo! Been listening to a lot of mixes then I come across this, a mix that is unique to the comp I think and deserves to be considered by the judges. I will follow and favourite :) if you have the chance listen to my now very 'normal' sounding deep house mix:
Let me know what you think and good luck in the comp Pablo!

agree with deepfreq
