NOMEANSNO are a truely one--of-a-kind band and an alternative Canadian institution. The Wright brothers, on bass and drums, formed the nucleus of the band in 1979 in Victoria, BC and developed their unique sound and sensibility before the addition of a guitarist. Lytically they have never feared to enter taboo territory and intelligently shed light on the nature of the human condition and political topics, without being preachy. You can hear a small handful of tracks from the band's lengthy recording career today. You can also hear me read excepts from the invaluable book 'NOMEANSNO: Going Nowhere' by super-fan Mark Black, which is part of the Bibliographic series from Invisible Publishing.
Also on the show are tracks from the debut release by Vancouver group Spring, as well as two Australian artists who are making the trek to the 2014 SXSW Festival in Austin, TX.
