The Purpose in this Radio Show with Ilias Katelanos, was to present the Japanese Asthetics through music, exchange of views and knowledge.
The track selection was based on 10 Japanese aesthetic principles:
Kanso: Simplicity or elimination of clutter.
Datsuzoku: Freedom from habit or formula. Escape from daily routine or the ordinary. Unworldly. Transcending the conventional.
Wabi: Simple, Austere Beauty means that even in straitened circumstances no thought of hardship arises.
Shizen: Naturalness. Absence of pretense or artificiality, full creative intent unforced.
Yūgen: Profound Grace / Profundity or suggestion rather than revelation, the “dark” or “mysterious”.
Seijaku: Tranquility or an energized calm (quite), stillness, solitude.
Mono no aware: the Pathos of Things.
Fukinsei: Asymmetry or irregularity, symbolizing the imperfection that is part of existence.
Kire: Cutting to die and return again to life (Hakuin).
Sabi: Rustic Patina is to age well and grow rusty.
