Ed is away, so the remaining trio take a tour of the Overlook Film Festival at Timberline Lodge, dedicated to horror films, including in its premiere year such films as Boys in the Trees (Australia, 1990s, Hallowe’en), M.F.A. (college rape, with Francesca Eastwood of that family), Two Pigeons (a crawlspace two-hander), Like Me (about a female internet killing spree), and the odd The Dwarves Must Be Crazy from Thailand. Also on hand is Graduation, from Romania, the animated My Entire High School Sinking Into the Sea, the jazz documentary Chasing Trane, Karl Marx City (a memory-essay film), Graphic Means, a history of design, All This Panic, a profile of three years in the lives of some Brooklyn teen girls, and of course the All Classical-sponsored Song of Love, the musical melodrama from 1947 about Schumann and Brahms and that crowd, presented by Edmund Stone at the Hollywood Theatre on Saturday.
