Ally Hensley - Breaking the silence on MRKH syndrome

Ally Hensley was diagnosed with Mayer–Rokitansky–Küster–Hauser (MRKH) in 1997. MRKH is a syndrome in which the female reproductive tract never fully develops. The uterus, cervix, and upper vaginal canal are underdeveloped or not present. Through her search for self-acceptance and a desire to meet other women ‘just like her’, she decided provide support and awareness through both online and face-to-face mediums, whilst providing accurate and understandable medical information, endorsed by a partnered medical community, to those who share her journey. In this interview Ally shares her painful yet empowering story through finding her place in the world and the work that she now does in helping others speak out about their condition and also breaking the taboo's around talking about sex and the female reproductive system.
