Big L ,is a station devised by Mike Read and opened in a blaze of glory by Cliff Richard in June 2005 based on the former Pirate Station and located in Frinton a place that featured so prominently in the Pirate days. Sadly, although the station still exists today in internet only form; the original format that was so listener friendly was to be dealt a fatal blow by the Channel 4 programme 'Get Your Act Together'.A programme totally unsympathetic to the ethos of good radio. The backers backed out and the station with so much potential failed to hit it's target audience. In this show the day after Radio Legend Alan Freeman died Mike Read pays fitting tribute.

Yes really enjoyed prog. Nice to recall old Fluff stuff. A great performer who broke the BBC mode on Pick of the Pops. Thanks for the upload.
