Alan Keith 'Your 100 Best Tunes' Radio Two 22nd February 1976

Alan Keith 'Your 100 Best Tunes' Radio Two 22nd February 1976

This is just one of over 2500 transmissions of 'Your 100 Best Tunes' A format devised by former actor Alan Keith and initially aired on The Light Programme in 1959. The original idea was for Alan to draw up a list of 100 popular Classical pieces, songs and Operas. By 1960 Alan had exhausted the selection but continued to present the show based on listener's requests. Alan continued to present the show in his unique style right up until his death in 2003 at the ripe old age of 94 when Richard Baker took over until 2007 when the show was finally axed. This particular edition is from February 1976 and includes many recognisable tunes. Great news bulletin and sports report at the end.

It was always a relaxing listen at the end of a busy weekend. "Now a very goodnight .... pause .... to you all!"
