On this episode of The Night, I had the long-awaited pleasure of chatting with Nathan Lawr, a drummer for all seasons, story teller to the sages and leader of the mighty Minotaurs, an aweless gaggle of musicians devoted to concocting hoppy barrels of sensationally freaky afrobeat. Their fine new album, Weird Waves, celebrates it's album release this Saturday (April 9th), and so, we talked about the new record, their new approach to recording, the genius of The Funkees, the unnerving future, the dangerously underrated Beans, the Maestro Kapuściński, playing folk songs in a cage with Arcade Fire, & OTHER TALES OF SUSPENSE! I also featured music from the likes of Juliet Oh, Eucalyptus, Zwarun, Rabit & Elaquent!
