Let's Wrestle are one of my favourites. Thus receiving news of their brand new single was akin to being invited to watch the rest of season four of Mad Men in one sitting, joined on comfortable sofa by Christina Hendricks and a limitless supply of tea and toasted cheese and ham sandwiches. I was pleased.
Crushing Nerves is the sound of LW at their awkward adolescent best, and precedes the brilliant Gun Fun from Warmest Chord's Slow Talk, a first play of a b-side by Seattle's Seapony, a whacked out belter from the new Teeth of the Sea album and the first taste of Darkstar's greatly anticipated debut album North. I also pluck some Randomer from the new Soul Jazz Future Bass compilation, pick a favourite from the Islet EP which is out this week and get to play the brand (brand brand) new Berlin inspired beauty from SEAMS - Hung Markets - which is available as a free download from his Bandcamp as of right now.
That's all after a 40 year old gem from Les Maledictus Sound...
