Eels on Heels is a peculiar name for a band, granted, but don’t hold it against them. If you liked Cold Pumas last week then I reckon you’ll love this Italian trio’s crashing punk attack too.
Elsewhere on this week’s 50-odd minute musical mosey: euphonic ambience from William Cody Watson awkwardly rubbing shoulders with the scuffed punk of Sydney’s Raw Prawn; Point B’s sublime afro-two step gem ‘Collective Origins’; coy, classy streetpop by Mind Enterprises; Floridian tropical pop from Bayatas; Torontonians Chrome & The Ice Queen’s sultry match up with Hooded Fang’s Daniel Lee, and a gruesome, rumbling shudder of a remix by FaltyDL.
I also find time to gabble on a bit about your musical likes/dislikes and share news of one of the finest live bands I’ve seen in months.
The whole thing may or may not come off like “the Shipping Forecast, but with musical interludes”. (Rhys Absolom)
