Hillcock's Sister Ray Record Store Day 2010 Mix

Hillcock's Sister Ray Record Store Day 2010 Mix

About the show

Playing tracks by

Let's Wrestle, Health, The Sandwitches, Django Django, ZOLA JESUS and more.

For this year's Record Store Day Sister Ray (of Berwick Street in London) asked me to stick a few songs on a mix cd for them to play out in store.

The opportunity to be in control of an independent record shop's stereo for about an hour is not one that should be passed up, so I jumped at the chance.

Though it begins with a loosely RSD-related lyric ('No matter how many records I buy I still can't fill this void') courtesy of Let's Wrestle there isn't really a particular theme. Generally I wanted to play things that might help bring a bit of the spring sun in store, and get record-rack rummagers' heads bobbing a bit.

I hope just one person asked at the till what was playing at some point.

Oh snap, there was a playback error!
