Some of us have seen evangelism done well, many of us have been wounded by poor evangelism attempts and nearly all of us have misconceptions about evangelism. What is it? How do I it? Is it necessary? Etc. In this sermon we look at evangelism primarily as the telling of a story of good news. A good news story that confronts the broken ways we think about ourselves, God and our world and shows us the true story of God's redemptive plan throughout history, His pursuit of us in His Son Jesus Christ. Also in this sermon, we look at 1) the message of evangelism, and how it combats what has become common in today's church, the oddity of the practice of evangelism as a 'new work' to perform to make God and others happy with us, 2) the dwelling place of evangelism deep inside us and renewing us and 3) the overflow of evangelism that declares and demonstrates the gospel story to others.
