RadioActive EP19 - Refugees, migration, acculturation and traumatic stress: A dialogue w Dina Birman

About the show

Sunday March 29th, 2015 @6pm.

On this episode of RadioActive I was joined by Dr. Dina Birman to discuss, refugees, culture, acculturation, migration and traumatic stress. Before we got down to it Dina takes listeners through a definition of Community Psychology and her own personal history of moving to the US as a refugee from the Soviet Union.

As a researcher, a community psychologist and a refugee herself, Dina takes a very grounded perspective towards the role of culture and acculturation in the refugee experience, and a context based perspective to refugee resettlement work.
