MAYA GOLD MINING IN GEORGIA?

MAYA GOLD MINING IN GEORGIA?

Maya gold are two words that are closely associated with Mayan culture, but it might be true and accurate to state that gold was mined by the Mayans in Georgia of the United States.
Georgia is a lovely southern state that is well known for Georgia peaches, the big, bustling city of Atlanta, and, of course, the Masters Golf Tournament that takes place every spring in Augusta, but there is something that might not have appeared in the history books concerning Georgia, and that is possibly, many years ago, Maya gold mining was taking  place in northern Georgia.
The gold might  have been mined in Georgia, and transported by canoes down waterways through much of Florida before eventually being shipped across the Gulf of Mexico from the western coast of Florida to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.

In addition to gold, the blue clay, attapulgite, that is mined in southwest Georgia near Attapulgus, Georgia might have been the source of the pigment called "Maya Blue", which was used by the ear
