Playing tracks by
Dick Hyman and Richard hayman.
People get Dick Hyman and Richard Hayman confused, which isn't surprising. They both recorded moog albums for Enoch Light's Command label in the late sixties, from which most of these tracks come. I suppose this stuff falls into the realm of space age pop, but there's some truly adventurous stuff going on here, especially as Hayman was best know as a harmonica player and Hyman a ragtime pianist. There are also three tracks from Hyman's 1963 album, MOON GAS, with vocals by Mary Mayo, which is a truly astonishing record for its time. I could tell you more but you can use Google, can't you? None of these albums have been legitimately reissued on CD, so check eBay - and if you see a mint stereo copy of MOON GAS for under $60, snap it up.
