Playing tracks by

Brian Eno with Robert Wyatt, SALEM, Nosaj Thing, Peverelist & Hyetal, New Order and more.

There’s more than the usual smattering of dubstep in this month’s mix, some from Bristol’s very own Pinch, Peverelist and Hyetal, and more in the shape of the speaker-wobbling sub bass from appropriately-named Sub Version. And squeezed in at the last minute, a taster from the forthcoming ‘Scientist Launches Dubstep Into Outer Space’ compilation on Pinch’s Tectonic label that sees mighty dub producer Scientist rework King Midas Sound. Look forward to hearing more of it.

Elsewhere Salem turn in what’s got to be one the tracks of the year, and later on reappear to grumble smuttily all over These New Puritans. Jamie xx does his masterful remix stuff once again, this time for Nosaj Thing. Some listeners might remember these early ones from New Order and The Cure, but it’s the Liberation track from a decade or so later that’s got to be this month’s lost gem.

Add some badly recorded vinyl from Nora Dean, a dash of Martina Topley-Bird, Eno with Wyatt, and David Sylvian, and there you go.
