I recently compiled a collection of 70 tracks for my mum's 70th birthday - one marking each year since 1942 (released/recorded/performed in a given year - fairly flexible).
The result was four and a half hours of music in chronological order across four CDs - it went down a storm with Mixless senior: stuff she was familiar with from her youth and my youth, alongside things she may never have heard but which I knew she'd love.
I then had the stupid idea of putting all those tracks together in one much shorter continuous - but far from chronological - mix... and here it is.
It also seemed fitting to time this with the annual #keepingitpeel day in honour of the great man. Peel himself would have been roughly 70 give or take a year or two, and a lot of the music on here I wouldn't have known about without him.
Expect dodgy mixing, jarring mis-matches, the odd surprising blend, and plenty of 'what the hell's he done!?'
