When I was 7, I scored my very first goal in soccer. I was running around pretty aimlessly before I ended up with the ball, and then I was stiff-arming people, juking kids out, it was a visceral experience for me!
Soccer moms were yelling for me, my dad (he was the coach) was yelling, "GO, JAKE, GO!"
I took the shot, it sailed into the top corner, still to this day the most beautiful shot I have ever made! I turned to look at the screaming crowd of soccer moms when I realized that the wrong soccer moms were excited...
You see, I scored on my own team...
My dad was actually yelling, "NO, JAKE, NO!"
I was just a kid who had not played or had any experience with sports at this point... So I was blind to what I needed to see to actually score for my team, and not listening to my dad made me look like a fool.
Truth is, we are all foolish and blind at some point in our lives. And this can actually be the worst news in the universe for us.
But the good news, is that God is neither
