When we practise allowfulness, what we are doing instead is taking a step back whenever the thoughts start to take over. We come back to experiencing the feeling as it is—as a sensation. That’s it. If you can learn to do that, you will never have an emotional problem again. When the emotion tries to take over your thinking, or vice versa, you can just sit and experience the feeling while watching the thoughts roll by. It’s as if you are sitting in a nice warm house watching a thunderstorm roll through. Beautiful, powerful and unable to stop your happiness.
