Open House Club - 1989 San Diego

Playing tracks by

I had moved to San Diego in 1988 and befriended a wonderful fellow named Martin Abbott. I used to make a bunch of tapes with my old awful turntables and shitty Realistic mixer. He had given one to Tony Nash, who was about to open San Diego's very first house club. Located at the Whistle Stop bar in North Park (30th/Fern), it was quickly filled with grooving bodies on Weds nights. I didn't spin again until house parties around 1993. This tape is probably one of many that I made for my dear friend Martin Abbott. I dedicate this to his special soul. Friends of mine always thought he was not of this earth. Possibly an space alien that occupied his body. IDK, but he was certainly different, in a good way. I hope this brings back good memories. I miss all of the funky remixes, and I am pretty impressed by all of the live remixing I did to songs back then. Some tunes have 3 versions playing. Oh, I missed some track listings, but thank God for "Shazam". Have fun!!
