Simon McGuinness of Cuba Support Campaign talks to Michael FitzGerald of NEAR-fm about recent developments in the cases of the Miami 5. The good news is that Renee Gonzalez has been released after completing a 15 years stretch. The less good news is that he is obliged to spend 3 years in administrative detention in Miami, not the friendliest environment. The worse news is that his wife, Olga, has again been denied visiting rights, so it will be another 3 years before their family can be re-united in Cuba. The next prisoner due for release if Rene’s brother Fernando, 18 year sentence, but the remaining three prisoners are still being held in Super Max prisons, with not possibility of release other than through a prisoner swap deal.
