By Aniruddh "Andrew" Bansal, May 21st 2011, Los Angeles CA: I had the good fortune of catching up with Black 'n Blue frontman Jaime St. James. Listen to him as he talks about capturing the classic Black 'N Blue sound with the new album 'Hell Yeah' and what it was like to release an album after a gap of 23 years. He shares an interesting story behind how the album's title came about, and talks about how he came to leave Warrant and get back to doing Black 'N Blue, and what he draws from that experience.
We then discuss the band's appearance at the M3 Festival last week, whether it will trigger them into doing a full tour again, and whether or not there is a market for this style of music in the present day and age. Jaime touches upon future plans for the band before we get into his own career, talking about how he started out as a drummer and became a singer later, touring with bands like Aerosmith, KISS, Dio and Queensryche, his friendship with Tommy Thayer among other things.
