Playing tracks by

Ramon Judah & Conscious Sounds, Spectrasoul, Joe Syntax, Dub Force & Bladerunner, Break & Survival and more.

A funk/jazz/dubby dnb mix I threw together the night before for the Boreal 2013 canoe/camping event. Not all dnb I play has to be dark hard minimal stuff. :) (okay, I threw in a few, but I behaved for most of it)

Must have flipped my DnB switch that night. I just love this style. Never usually like DnB

Yeah, a bunch of people don't agree with me entirely but I see a distinction between jungle and drum'n'bass. Jungle is a lot more frenetic and sometimes sounds like a drummer having a seizure, the music's sound and percussion is busier, but drum'n'bass tends to always follow a set meter and be very consistent. (except for little drops or shifting of the measure) It often has progressive flow and building/change over the length of the track kinda the way some older minimal techno did. I came from minimal techno where there was a lot of layering of tracks segueing between one and the other, so most mixes I do of dnb tend to be "blends' rather than a fast cut over to the next track. Anyway, it's possibly my house/techno root interest I bring to dnb which gave my dnb selection more appeal for you. Or I'm just awesomesauce (with a huge ego) and pick quality music. :)
