The second podcast begins with a German dubbed monologue which deals with the arbitrariness of certain events happening in famous movies. The monologue is a fun but also crucial element to the mix which covers a wide range of genres and is a summary of electronic music released this year so far.
The set starts off with feel-good house from the aforementioned Soundstream and Tuff City Kids’ “Beau-Tan”. The first cut of Fort Romeau’s Emulators EP appears, followed with African percussion-laden tracks by Jimpster and Konstantin Sibold’s popular “Afro-Tech Mix” for Red Axes.
Things get heavier with Robag Wruhme’s “X-Mop 198” and one of my favorites from Hotflush’s latest compilations: Lando’s “Ritual Track”. There’s a return to tribal-infused tracks with &ME’s “Avalon” which received huge responses at festivals. James Murphy’s epic 9-minute ode to a lost friendship called “how do you sleep?” closes out this set.
