Mel ‘Chaos’ Lewis aka Shish Boom Bah began his love for music at the age of 9. Through influences in his home and the emerging Philadelphia rap scene he had strong desire to make the world dance. In his teen years he started as a DJ, which enabled him to be a member of two rap groups. When the groups disbanded, Mel was introduced to the world of music production. His tenacity enabled him to quickly master this craft and he created a sound, which is unparalleled.
Through a friend Mel was introduced to The Roots. He provided production on their albums Illadelph Half-Life, the Grammy nominated album-Things Fall Apart, Tipping Point and the Block Party Soundtrack. Eventually Mel met Will.I .Am of the Black Eyed Peas and was immediately picked up by his production company. Through that partnership he landed tracks on the multiplatinum BEP album-Monkey Business, Macy Grey’s album-Big, and Fergie’s smash solo debut- The Dutchess.
