Chart positions

This show was 1st in the global northern soul chart.

Well after a month of nothing but “Wigan” based podcasts, I took this opportunity to go freestyle, not really sure what that actually means but basically I just played anything I wanted to with no theme or running order. I also kept the Wigan stuff to a minimum so most (but not all) records on here are either sleepers, or where big AFTER Wigan closed, so anyone who thinks Northern Soul died in 1981, I hope this will convince you otherwise. I think the last 30 minutes are so is one of the best podcasts I’ve ever done. But I’d had about 5 pints and 3 cans by then, so I would do!

totally enjoyed that Pete keep them coming mate K.T.F.Away of life

Rod Postlethwaite

It's a surprisingly good record from an unexpected source (a bit like the Bill Oddie one on SS). Lena Horne meant the Light programme/ Radio 2 MOR jazz until I heard this!

Rod Postlethwaite

Some cracking tunes.
Of the ones I've never heard before, Ernestine Anderson, Lena Horne and George Freeman stand out as special.

Rod I'm glad someone noticed the lena Horne record, had that for ages but never put it on anything before, this time I thought "why not"
