60's SOUL CLUB CLASSICS 1960 -1970 (4 Hour Special)

60's SOUL CLUB CLASSICS 1960 -1970 (4 Hour Special)

Chart positions

This show was 1st in the global northern soul chart.

What a monster this turned out to be, 101 tracks and 4 hours long! There’s no DJing on this one except at the start, just the music with me popping in every half hour to see if everyone is ok. This is basically the history of UK club soul in the 1960’s told through original British label releases on such famous labels as London, Stateside, Atlantic, Pye International, Sue, Tamla Motown and many more. All tracks are played from the original British releases. I must apologise because I accidentally pressed the “bass kill” switch on the left deck so the first hour or so is a bit tinny on every other record. Anyway this is one of the most enjoyable mixes I ever did I think so I hope you enjoy it.

Awesome! Will there be a part 2, since this is a 4-hour show? :)

Pete Smith (Planet Records)

Yeah I actually did it on saturday night but I made so many mistakes that it's going to take me an hour or so to edit it, but it should be going up tonight
