Long-time contributors to the Canadian electronic music scene, Matt and Mark Thibideau have in the last 15 years performed solo, under different monikers, and together, in the band Repair. As a duo, or on their own, they’ve played some of the most influential clubs and festivals worldwide, doing so without compromising their talent or commitment to producing artful music. Now, they’ve joined forces to incorporate both of their respective outputs fusing two separate bodies of work in one cohesive live performance.
As much dancefloor-ready as it is synapse-stimulating, it’s music that resists easy classification. Their sounds range from hypnotic dub techno to slow-burning deep house to energetic machine-tech curiosities. With a healthy knowledge and appreciation of electronic music’s past, and respect for the sounds resonating with crowds now, the Thibideau’s produce music outside of time or genre. It’s both retro and current—a sign of true artistry.
