About the show

Playing tracks by

First Cosins Jazz Ensemble, Ben Sidran, Honey Boy, Jay Cee Band, Sound Dimention and more.

A mash up mix of many genres of music styles which I believe flow quite nice together. Done as my annual xmas mix swap on the Brownswood forum for Nikos this year. Now available to share. You will find a little of Soul, Boogie, Disco, Dub, Reggae, Roots, a Latin tune some Jazz, Funk and an African tune. Hope you enjoy as these are always fun to compile. All the best and happy vibes....... Mike

Oh Anton you got me all in a fizz lol.
Been doing a few web searches and looks like they are still going? and they have a web site http://www.thewisdomband.vot.pl/
In the History tag there is listed a track from 1985 called klung klusion. That has to be the one you have. Oh I need to hear this and the vinyl has gone on my wants list. That sounds like it would be a fantastic addition to the raw British Roots Reggae Mixes. btw my email address is [email protected]

One white label 12 I decorated in felt-tip with a capital V for vocal and D for the other side, No prizes for guessing. Fulham based around the early Eighties. There was a tape too of more Lovers songs. Young Lazarus walked a blaster with once. You want a lyric transcript?

A mp3 rip would be most fantastic if you have means to. But no worries if not. Would love to hear it. :)

I've now reset your original playlist. I'll post that here if you want. That research into Reggae Roots in England give you anything by a group called Wisdom?

Hi Anton. A UK reggae band called Wisdom! I don't think I have anything by them. They did a tune called "When Old Flames Burns". Going by the title it could of been a lovers rock tune. Have you heard it? Do you have any info on them?
I'm working on number 7 at the moment. Love doing those mixes. Got some great tunes coming on that.
Cheers bro :)

Where did you get the cover? Years back I compiled a cassette with a dub of I Will Never Change. Only now I do I learn I misguessed its title.

Thats a blast from the past Anton. One of my first uploads on Mixcloud.
Hehe yeah the cover is a bit silly, the premise of the mix was a Hot sexy potato, I don't know why! That is a cut and paste job of the girl from Roy Ayers Ubiquity "Starbooty" record cover. Now holding a potato rather than a star with a city scene added. They started as a Xmas swap mix on the old Brownswood forum and this mix was volume 3. Oh the Cornell Campbell tune "I Will Never Change" is such a special tune. Respects Anton.
Thanks for the comment, I had totally forgot about these mixes and have just dug them off the old HD. I will upload. Part 2 going up now, and yes it has a potato :) Just need to find the tracklists for the others. Many thanks and All the best... Mike
