For those unfamiliar with the BSOTS GONE (buck)WILD shows, they are periodic primal screams that appear within the BSOTS podcast feed from time to time. This show was recorded in stages between the months of March and April 2017. I think the last time BSOTS got "buckwild" was in December of 2015, so the podcast has been long overdue for another one of these shows. A lot has happened since then, both in my life and the world at large. There's plenty of music contained within this episode that speaks at length on the problems of the world today. At the same time, there's music for the body to provide some balance. Hope you enjoy it.

WE NEED MORE CRATES RADIO

Great song selection, I can see how building this up took time. Always a fan of music with a message! Thanks man, great show!

Thanks so much, brother. This one was a true labor of love. It's been several years since the last time that I went camping, but yeah...I'm overdue to go off the grid for a while. :-]

Loving the show so far one thing that stood out about that book. I swear that's the best part of going camping NO CELLPHONES! Going off the grid even just for a few days can be therapeutic.

Many things to mull over from this episode. I appreciate the fine line you're able to traverse regarding politics, and other worldly (otherworldly?) events. It’s a great finesse that many people can’t illustrate. You’re able to say enough about your opinion, but not too much. On my show, I constantly struggle with wanting to be strong and forthcoming with my viewpoint vs. being a non-bias presenter. You work that quite well.

But yeah, the music was great, powerful, and fun. I love the Saul Williams clips. I remember watching the video, and thinking that pretty much summed up what a lot of people were feeling at the time. At still are. Other highlights for me were Hot Heads Wild, Open Mike Eagle, Mako & The Hawk, and J-Live.

Also, thanks for sharing your thoughts on your own personal challenges. I can certainly relate to that. I’m feeling good about 2017, and I think we’ve all got this. Hah Thanks, again, for the inspiration.

So there are 165 BSOTS podcast episodes so far and maybe about 20 of them are "buckwild" shows. It was originally designed as a space to allow for a diversion from the show's usual format and a place to rant. I was releasing shows like this about four times a year back 2008 and I go off about things a lot more in the earlier ones. Somewhere along the way I realized that I could let the music rant for me. The right song can often relay my feelings or opinion on something that I'm passionate about in a more creative way than I can. When I do that, then I'm left with the job of being more of a narrator or observer. I can fine tune my viewpoint so that it's more introspective than intrusive. Not antagonizing and still honest. It took me several years to figure out that approach where the "buckwild" shows were concerned.

What Saul Williams had to say stayed with me and I knew that I needed to make time for his thoughts on the show. In terms of fun cuts, the Mako & The Hawk joint has been on repeat with me for the past few months. The balance between the silly and the serious is needed now than ever, so I get to practice walking that line whenever these types of shows come around. Glad to hear that this one spoke to you on some level. Respect, man. Thanks for listening. :-]
