Sunday Morning Music vol. 7 - The Sun King

Sunday Morning Music vol. 7 - The Sun King

Playing tracks by

Lights Out Asia, Jon Hopkins, Phosphorescent, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, Boards of Canada and more.

As I was collecting tracks for another Sunday morning mix, I stumbled upon the Sun Kil Moon song "Sunshine in Chicago" and it hit me that the mix should revolve around the sun. So every song on the tracklist has "sun" in the title.

The Beatles - The Sun King(vocals only remix)
Lights Out Asia - Birds Sing Sun-Rising Hymns
Jon Hopkins - Sun Harmonics
Phosphorescent - Sun, Arise
Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross - Painted Sun in Abstract
Boards of Canada - Turquoise Hexagon Sun
Popol Vuh - Morning Sun
Alexi Murdoch - Towards the Sun
Ben Howard - Under the Same Sun
M. Ostermeier - Sunlight on My Desk
Underworld - capa meets the sun
Max Richter - Sunlight
Jon Hopkins - The Wider Sun
John Tavener - Eternity's Sunrise
Vir Unis - Infinite Sun
David Sylvian - Sunlight seen through towering trees

the soundbyte from ~38 minute mark was superb. Makes the violin sound so powerful, yet sad. What movie was that from?

The tune is Sunlight by Max Richter from an album called Songs From Before. It sure sounds like film music but I don't know if it was used in one.
