Chart positions

This show was 1st in the global experimental ambient chart and 4th in the global ambient chart.

When I create mixes, hopefully, the end result is greater than the sum of its parts. But what I do is nothing compared to the transformative touch that Peter Van Cooten brings to his mixes.

Each mix is a unique work of art. Peter rarely lets a track play completely. Instead, he uses smaller samples & deftly layers the tracks. Sometimes 2, 3 or 4 tracks play simultaneously, creating something new from different elements. In this mix, he uses an incredible 41 tracks!

This mix is a bit darker than most of mine. But it's dark in an interesting, cinematic way. Peter was hesitant about the name & cover art, he says - "It may be too closely linked to the current worldwide crisis, but on the other hand I have tried to think of another name or context but the uncertain times seem to be too dominant to think of another name."

This is beautiful; the sonority, the depth of the music, the story being told. I know how difficult it is to make these mixes, for all the attempts I've made. Congratulations

Thanks for listening! This is why I jumped at the chance to have Peter do a guest mix. He takes mixes to a whole new level and I am thankful for his contribution here. Cheers!

Wonderful mix...so apropos to our common dilema in the age of Corona. Apart from the incredible mix, what about the cover art? Where is this photo from? So post-apocalyptic!

Thanks. About the image: this is an (uncredited) press photo (AFP/STR) that was widespread around the internet. I can safely say that this photo helped inspire the mix; it was not added afterwards and I could not find a more fitting image to this mix than this particular one. Post-apocalyptic indeed!

This is superb, one of best eclectic chills I’ve heard in some time!

using small samples in the mix was awesome. The samples blended together very well and I enjoyed the tracks.
