City Centre Offices - Impact & Inspiration

City Centre Offices - Impact & Inspiration

Chart positions

This show was 1st in the global electronic chart, 1st in the global chill chart, 2nd in the global ambient chart and 2nd in the global chillout chart.

This week marks the final transmission of the wonderful record label, City Centre Offices.  In 1999 their style of electronic music was new to me and I devoured their releases with a rapacious glee.  This mix is my thank you to CCO.

If you're not familiar with their music check out this excellent article...

This mix goes from light and chill to heartbreaking. I don't know why I get affected by the last track so much, but I do.

I know what you mean about that last track, it gets me every time too. Thanks for listening!

Wow! ¡De nuevo qué bonito! Muchas gracias por esta música. What a magnificent journey!

Music was my first love

Great mix, very inspiring! I love your channel !

Thanks for your kind comments and thanks for listening. Cheers!

Ambient Landscape

It's official: I donned my ear-buds yesterday AM & ran a Nordic Track workout to this set! Core tunes during core development (the Track works your core...abs, too!).

Haha! This opens up new possibilities for mixes - ambient workout tunes! Actually it would be fun to come up with tracks that all have a good pace without devolving into soul crushing techno.

Kirk Kidman

"...good pace without devolving into soul crushing techno." nice

Hi Dave. I'm very excited to share a couple more "train" themed tracks with you. Just discovered this one by Al Gromer Khan from TURYA (2006): "'Stambul Train." Also "Sleepless on the Kostonuksha-Petrozavodsk Night Train" by Johan Agebjorn & Mikael Ogren from the brand new and terrific WE NEVER CAME TO THE WHITE SEA. Please message me on Facebook. I'd love to talk to you more about a new train mix. --Paul Asbury Seaman. Thanks!

Thanks Paul! I'm listening to your suggestions right now. So good. So I guess I'll have to start planning another train mix. Cheers!

the mix wont play in cali.

That is so strange. I know there are copyright differences between the US & Europe that makes some mixes unplayable but I wasn't aware of differences between states that would affect play ability. I think I'll check with the good folks at Mixcloud to see what's up. In the meantime you can listen and download the mix here...

Renee Simonet

What happened to this set? It was so cool, I kept going back until there was no going back. Just being a demanding listener, sorry.

low light mixes

Not sure what you mean. The mix is still here and still playing.

I'm starting to figure out that some areas may not be able to play this mix due to copyright issues. So if you still want to listen or download it try here...

Wasn't familiar with CCO, but these Ulrich Schnauss tracks have caused me to wonder: How come he didn't get included in either of your train-theme mixes??? --given, yes, the way he sounds, but also that his breakthrough album was called "Far Away Trains Passing By."

That's a really good point. I guess that sometimes it's hard to keep track of all the great music floating around out there. I'll try to remember him for the next train mix. Thanks the reminder & thanks for listening.
