Don't know where I was going with this one, just liked the tracks I suppose. Wasn't sure about the Bettye Lavette edit, but it's definitely grown on me. Some Valerie Simpson without Nickolas Ashford and then a track by Lew Kirton with an uncanny resemblance to I Will Survive (his album was released a year before Gloria Gaynor's hit), but I like them both! I'm not sure if recent Vatican news subconsciously inspired my choice of the West India Company track but in any case, the second half of the selections leaves this earth behind with Disco Me and Tantra's Hills of Katmandu. Sail away!
