The London Riots took their toll on music this past week. The Sony/PIAS distribution centre was torched and indie labels' stock melted to nothing. Which of them can recover and what stock is lost forever I don't know. On a more personal note, the Oxfam music shop I work at was also damaged. Bitter irony that I bought some great CDs there from Ninja, Roots Records and Warp, only a few weeks back.
So here is a bunch of stuff I've been enjoying from these labels. It's a melting pot going from Reggae to Welsh funk, Dubstep to Eno to Electro Swing and Cuban rap, a bit like the PIAS warehouse shelves.
Help by downloading or buying from the labels affected or go to www.pias.com for details of funds set up to help.
