Kyle Krone has been busy expanding his horizons since 2011, when he released “For Those Who Think Young.” That solo debut marked another chapter in the singer-songwriter’s story arc, which began in 2006 when his band the Shys released the first of their two albums. As with many of Krone’s scenarios, the new single “Vanilla Sun,” released last week, brings him back to the sun and sand, and the romanticism they evoke. Over chiming guitars, walks on the beach commingle with dancing in the streets in Krone’s increasingly sophisticated pop — the third single (with “Afterglow” and “Sea Level”) from his forthcoming full-length “Sea Level,” co-produced by Jon O’Brien. Besides his solo work, Krone has undertaken co-writing with other artists, including “They Tell Me” from Bay Area songstress Charis and the album “From The City To The Ocean Side” by the Spanish singer-songwriter Luis A. Segura, who makes music under the moniker L.A.
