Even though he could be classified as a multi-hyphenate creative, Kunal Krishna Merchant (KKM) elevates the craft of DJing above all else. It's almost as if nothing else matters. After twenty years behind the decks, he continues to seek out fellow DJs and producers who push the proverbial sound barrier while treating nightclubs as his temple and the underground as his religion. He's toured the world, played with dance music icons and hip-hop's culture creators. He produced an epic rendition of Jay-Z's American Gangster that took the rapper through the streets of 1970's Bollywood and he once remixed Michael Jackson to be played on BBC Radio One's legendary airwaves. Today, after taking a short break to devote time to his two children's early years, he's back where he belongs, playing nightclubs and lofts in New York, still yearning to alter minds and inspire dancefloors.
