As Julian Guthrie details in her new book, "How to Make a Spaceship," Diamindis offered a $10 million reward for the first privately built craft that could take a person into space, land safely, and repeat the feat. We speak with Guthrie about the book, which traces the origins of private space flight and the eccentric characters who pursued Diamandis' Ansari X prize.
