a dry season...waiting on rains

The monsoon was a week late, the intense heat simmered my soul, my clothes meshed and fused to my salty body and our tar like shadows followed us slower than usual.
Auntie Josie had the pans on for supper, at least the fish were plentiful. My Grandfather was out in the schooner fishing.

The radio was on the whole time the heat governing the infrequent signal so songs and newscasts would all come and go with long silences in between.
Auntie Josie sang a mantra "When the rain comes cos the rain will purify."

Cooking and cleaning and gazing out to sea.

My sister played her guitar in the shadows the parched notes hung in the air and fell as slow as feathers.......

Shadow Whisper

Very powerful and conveying of your thoughts and vision without a flaw. I'm very moved by your ability to meld together such beautiful things and create an emotive journey.

junkyardangel

thank you so much for your comments I really appreciate them and I am glad there are some like minded souls as yourself who can find the ticket, take the journey and get a little lost in sounds of time....

I loved reading all the comments for this amazing mix. I have a post-it note next to my desk with the name "Nils Frahm" written on it. His piece, "Says" is just so arresting. I am impressed by how many other comments mention him by name. Kudos, Paul. This is so beautiful and reflects the amazing mind from which it flowed.

MAD LOVE for radio static!

junkyardangel

Yeah I can listen to static all day just can't be static all day.

Jose Miguel Aponte Fernandes

Hi , truly sorry, I really don't know what's going on, but if I have blocked you its not been intentional, in an attempt to "unblock" you I seemed to have deleted your comment now , sorry!!! It's now telling me that I don't have permission to post on your message or mixes, strange .

The Barrastinian

JYA given the shite weather, shouldn't this mix be called "waiting for the rain.....to stop!"

Love the barely there snippets of 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Paris'. This mix is definitely creating a specific mood. Would love to host this (along with Dusk Light Shadows). Peace.

junkyardangel

thanks, yes thats no problem, will send it to you later.

I keep coming back here to try and finisih up listening to this as it is so intriguing, but I'm getting bogged down by work, people, family, and appointments. I'm going to make it through, and I keep anticipating the aural rewards.

junkyardangel

perhaps I should have called it "waiting for the gain" =~)

As usual, your concept is amazing, your song choices are flawless, and the execution is consistently perfect. I wish that I could wear the sonic textures within this piece like an aura.

Very nice, Paul, you are one of my favorite mix-artists.

junkyardangel

*GUSH* thanks that coming from you means a lot, as I still aspire to put out accomplished mixes such as yours, but I do get lost a long the way and get a bit clouded with experimentation. "Mix" feelings are mutual.
